Fresh-Air-Finishes is owned and operated by Nate Gordon, who personally oversees the completion of each
project. In Nate's words:

"I enjoy helping people realize their particular vision of how they would like their home to look and feel. It's truly
rewarding to step back at the end of a project and appreciate not only the beautiful results of so much time and
effort put forth, but the satisfaction on the part of the customer in having realized that vision. In particular,
working on historic homes and properties satisfies a certain archaeological bent, and injecting new lifeblood back
into these places is endlessly rewarding."

With over 20 years of experience in the industry, we bolster time honored traditional methods with the latest
technical innovations to ensure beautiful and lasting results. A few of our core principles and beliefs:

Investment Quality
It is critical that we offer a product that will stand the test of time. Ultimately, it is the cornerstone of our
reputation. We can all agree that throwing good money after bad on yet another poor quality paint job is no
different than throwing your hard earned money in the garbage. Simply put, it's a poor investment, but doesn't
have to be.

Shopping for a paint job is markedly different from shopping for a refrigerator, though this fact is most often
overlooked. For example,
Store #1 sells a refrigerator for $300 less than Store #2. If all things are equal, then it's a
simple choice. The trouble when applying that logic to buying a paint job is that all things are almost never equal.
Each proposal is different and specific in it's scope and, as such, in every way it is a
'you get what you pay for'
service that we as painters provide. Choose carefully when accepting a proposal, and be sure to have a crystal
clear understanding of just what it is that you're getting for your money.

In the end, buying a paint job
is an investment, good or bad. In an industry so completely saturated with
unscrupulous contractors, we're proud to stand among the many reputable and qualified craftsmen in the Boston
area who actually deliver on our promises and results. We collaborate with the finest craftsmen from other trades
to ensure that all work involved on your project is to the highest standard. What we promise is to deliver an

Investment Quality
product that you will be able to enjoy for years to come.

Quality Paints & Materials
"No master painter who is honest and values his reputation can afford to have anything to do with cheap or poor
material."

-A. Ashmun Kelly
(Excerpt from "The Master Painter" Volume XII - 1907)

As is evidenced by the words above, tradesmen at the turn of the last century understood what many have
forgotten or simply ignore at present. As the old saying goes:
'there's nothing so expensive as cheap paint'. Often
times contractors will cut corners by using the cheapest materials available as a means to submit the lowest
possible bid to a customer. This practice invariably results in premature paint failure, poor color retention and
fading, and, in some cases, complete deterioration and rot of the substrate that is painted. In the end, the cost of
subsequent repairs and painting necessary to correct these problems far exceeds having mandated the use of
choice materials from the outset.

From the
Flex-Tec HV epoxy used to repair and preserve wood, to the many fine paints, stains, and varnishes
that we use, we will never sacrifice quality when choosing materials, and we will specify the appropriate products
suited to your project's needs to ensure lasting results.

Safe Practices
Being that our workplace is typically  your home or place of business, we take every precaution to maintain a safe,
clean environment for all involved. The practice of lead-safe removal is observed at all times where removal of lead
based paint is called for. The use of propane torches as a means of paint removal is
dangerous and foolhardy and
is strictly prohibited! In most instances where paint is to be removed, we use a variety of stripping agents,
including several ecologically friendly
Back to Nature products. We also employ the use of The Silent Paint
Remover as a means of safe paint removal. All waste material is then properly maintained and disposed of.
